Seika is a Sparkman Stevens 42. She came to Blair Boats yard after taking on water while sailing to New Zealand from New Caledonia. The issue was the timber core behind the shower had not been well sealed, this had caused the planking to delaminate. The mast step was also rotten, and the teak deck needed some attention. The team at Blair Boats removed the rotten and delaminated timber replaced with Alaskan yellow cedar bonded with thickened epoxy, they fiber glassed the outside with 3 layers of 400gms double bias cloth. The inside was sealed with epoxy and Interprotect epoxy primer. The team also rebuild the bathroom, mast step, repalced the seacocks and repaired the teak deck.
